Special Education Graduate Assistant
The Graduate Special Education Assistant will report directly to the Dr. Ann Winfield (MA Special Education Program Director) and will be responsible for interacting with students and alumni in the MA Special Education program, assisting with education department events, and becoming familiar with educational policy, practice, and law.
- Assist with special projects, events, and professional development workshops
- Maintain accurate documentation of student and alumni records
- May be asked to contribute content to department social media platforms and blog
- Assist with faculty research and maintaining licensure standards
- Host office hours for student assistance
- Use of tact and sensitivity in handling private student information
Required Qualifications
- Must be current RWU graduate student
- Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Earned Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role desired
- Strong interpersonal, phone, and email skills
- Problem solver
- Quick learner
Preferred Qualifications
- Blog writing/editing
- Social Media
- Familiarity with Google Sheets/Excel and Google Docs/Word
Must be a current graduate student at RWU. This role will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year.
May work 10 hours/week, paid at $20/hour up to $4,000 per academic year.
